sometimes things come up in conversation that relate to the time I performed at MAMA 2011 and it just reminds me that if I never had “strange” interests like kpop I would’ve never accomplished one of my dreams or performed for over 1 billion people
I thought liking kpop made me weird in the eyes of others for such a long time but if I never brushed off their opinions and continued to like what I like I would’ve never done the most amazing thing I’ve done in my life so far
they probably thought I was strange then but the amount of admiration I receive from those same people when I tell them I danced on a televised stage in Singapore is really interesting
I dont’ know it’s just weird
it’s weird that I won and that I want to do it again and that I probably will never have enough luck to win another crazy contest but somehow I see myself returning to a similar lifestyle in the future
so my mom is a huge fan of Prince and she just found out that he sold out three shows in our city or something and she’s saying it’s worse than all the times I complain when kpop idols come to the U.S. and now I’m just like sEE YOU FINALLY UNDERSTAND IT SUCKS SO MUCH
anime detour registration is officially closed whoa
if anyone on tumblr likes kpop and is going you should message me and we’ll be friends forever I promise (◡‿◡✿)
so I was at Best Buy today and I hooked up my phone to the bluetooth on one of the speakers and started blasting Kpop and as soon as I walked away these two girls looked at each other and ran over to the speaker and oMFG THEY KNEW
I miss all the MBLAQ on my dash ᅲ.ᅲ
like this is you’re an A+ and I’ll check your blog out ~
| WAIT how did you get on stage last year??? Tell us! | ||

okay so my best friend Taylor and I entered a contest through Mnet and were actually one of the three winning groups! we submitted a video of us dancing (shuffling) with a message to our favorite Kpop stars and I’m still amazed that it was apparently good enough to win???
but yeah the prize was to fly to Singapore and perform in the finale of MAMA so we spent about four crazy days there and learned a bunch of choreography and hung out with the other winners (two guys from Singapore and three guys from Seoul who were all super nice and helpful) and it was really really cool :)
oh and besides the choreography there was a part where we had to introduce ourselves but then they suddenly told us to dance unexpectedly but it actually turned out well ^^
and when we exited the stage we ran into Beast and they were all very charming and bowed and we bowed back and they each said something but at that point I couldn’t really respond with any coherent english or korean back OTL
btw they lied on the height charts because they were all quite a bit shorter than what’s recorded haha
so yeah if you’re watching look for a blond girl with a ponytail (me) and a brunette (Taylor) both wearing red and black ^^
we’re on the top middle section of the stage in the finale and we introduce ourselves sometime during the middle of the show ~
does anyone know if SHINee is gonna be at MAMA this year?
